OUR MANIFESTO

ENG Architecture begins with conditions. Every project is embedded within a complex and specific reality shaped by geography, climate, landscape, history, culture, infrastructure, regulations, technology, material resources and patterns of inhabitation. These conditions are not constraints to be overcome, nor simply parameters to be organised. They constitute the starting point of the architectural process and the field within which new relationships can emerge. We approach architecture as a process of transformation: an investigation into how existing conditions can be interpreted, reorganised and intensified to produce new spatial realities. The complexity of a place is not reduced in order to make it manageable, but investigated, tested and translated into architectural strategies. Site, programme, structure, material, environmental performance and human experience are considered as interconnected elements of a larger system. Their relationships become the substance of the project. In this process, architecture is neither predetermined by form nor driven by a fixed language. Form emerges through research, analysis, experimentation and synthesis. Each decision is measured against the conditions of the project and its capacity to establish meaningful spatial relationships. Technology becomes an instrument of investigation. 

Through advanced visualisation, simulation, modelling and spatial testing, architectural ideas can be explored before they become physical realities. These tools allow us to work through complexity, compare alternatives, evaluate consequences and progressively refine the project. Representation is therefore not simply a way of communicating architecture, but an active instrument for producing it. We are interested in the moment in which information becomes space. Data becomes orientation. Climate becomes atmosphere. Material becomes experience. Structure becomes order. Technology becomes possibility. Context becomes identity. Through this transformation, architecture gives physical and perceptual form to relationships that may otherwise remain invisible. The concept of habitat extends this understanding beyond the building itself. Habitat is not simply a constructed environment or a place of occupation, but the condition produced by the interaction between space, people, environment, time and use. It includes what is built and what surrounds it, what is permanent and what changes, what is measurable and what is perceived. To design a habitat is therefore to design relationships. It means considering how a space is entered, occupied, crossed, illuminated, ventilated, inhabited and remembered. It means understanding architecture through its effects over time rather than only through its physical appearance. A successful project does not merely provide space, but establishes a framework within which different forms of life, activity and experience can take place. 

For this reason, we do not seek to impose a universal architectural solution. Each project requires its own response. A specific site produces a specific architecture. A specific programme produces a specific spatial organisation. A specific climate produces a specific environmental strategy. A specific material produces a specific sensory condition. A specific cultural context produces a specific relationship between architecture and inhabitation. Uniqueness therefore does not mean formal exception or visual novelty. It is the consequence of a rigorous response to the conditions of a place. The unique habitat is the result of a process in which complexity is not eliminated, but transformed into coherence. This transformation requires iteration. Ideas are developed through a continuous cycle of observation, hypothesis, testing and refinement. Alternatives are compared, assumptions are challenged and relationships are recalibrated. The project evolves through evidence as much as through intuition. We consider intuition not as an instinctive or arbitrary act, but as the result of accumulated investigation. Through repeated testing, a deeper understanding of the project emerges. This informed intuition allows architectural decisions to become increasingly precise while maintaining the openness required for discovery. 

Architecture consequently operates between analysis and imagination. Analysis provides structure to the problem. Experimentation opens new possibilities. Technology allows them to be tested. Material gives them physical presence. Experience gives them meaning. The result is not simply an object, but a spatial condition. A condition capable of connecting architecture to its environment, programme to experience, and physical matter to human perception. In this sense, architecture becomes an active mediator between what already exists and what could exist. It does not begin from a blank surface. It begins from reality and transforms it. Complexity becomes a resource. Existing structures, historical traces, environmental forces, social patterns, infrastructures, limitations and opportunities are brought into relation. Instead of treating these elements separately, the architectural project searches for a synthesis in which they can reinforce one another. The objective is not to produce complexity in form, but to produce clarity through complexity. 

Every project is therefore understood as a specific field of research. Its value lies not only in its final expression, but also in the knowledge generated throughout the process: new ways of organising space, new relationships between material and structure, new applications of technology, new approaches to environmental performance, and new understandings of how architecture can support contemporary forms of inhabitation. Across different scales — from interior spaces to buildings, landscapes and urban systems — the same principle remains constant: architecture is a process of transforming relationships. The project becomes a device for reading its context and, at the same time, for changing it. What exists becomes the basis for what can emerge. What is complex becomes spatial. What is fragmented becomes relational. What is latent becomes inhabitable. This is where architecture becomes habitat. Not as a finished object, but as a living condition shaped by space, material, environment, technology and time. A unique habitat is therefore not something designed in isolation. It is something that emerges from the precise encounter between a place and the architectural intelligence brought to it. Our work begins with this encounter. We investigate conditions, construct relationships, test possibilities and transform complexity into space. Architecture becomes the method through which a specific reality is understood, challenged and given a new form of inhabitation.
